Radiologist-led radiation protection training built on the FANR curriculum. Study online at your own pace, from AED 299, with a CPD certificate.
Every medical facility in the UAE that uses X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, mammography or dental radiography needs people who understand how to use ionising radiation safely and how the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) expects that to be documented. The Radiation Protection Officer is the person who carries that responsibility day to day.
Radicon Institute of Radiology trains that role. Our courses are written and taught by practising radiologists and follow the FANR curriculum, so what you learn maps onto the radiation protection programme your facility actually has to run.

Questions
What does a Radiation Protection Officer do?
The Radiation Protection Officer is the named person responsible for radiation safety in a facility. In practice that means overseeing the radiation protection programme, monitoring staff exposure, checking that equipment and shielding are used correctly, keeping the records an inspection would ask for, and being the point of contact for radiation safety questions.
Is the course online or in person?
All three courses are available online and self-paced. You register, work through the lessons whenever it suits you, and finish in your own time. Radicon also runs scheduled live online courses during the year.
Do I get a certificate and CPD points?
Yes. You receive a CPD certificate on completion. RPO Basic carries 7 CPD points.
Which course should I take?
Take RPO Basic if you need the core radiation protection qualification. Take RPO Advanced if you will hold the Radiation Protection Officer responsibility yourself. Take the Dental course if you work in dental radiography only.
Can a clinic book places for a group?
Yes. For group and corporate bookings email info@radiologycourses.org or call or WhatsApp +971 58 204 7475.
How long does it take?
RPO Basic is 25 lessons and RPO Advanced is 54. Because the courses are self-paced there is no fixed schedule, and most people fit them around clinical work.
Registration, payment and your certificate are handled on radicon.org, the Radicon Institute learning platform.
